My school had a "Career's" class that was supposed to fulfill a state econ standard requirement.

We learned how to make a resume, file 1040, deposit/write checks, fill out a job application and every week we were required to research one career and describe its long-term pay, availability, pros and cons, and requirements.

Probably one of the best classes I've ever taken.
